Aubrey Brawley- Instructor Trainer, Krav Maga, Fight, Conditioning, Law Enforcement Training and KMX
Aubrey Brawley is our chief instructor here at Krav Maga Waterloo. After decades spent training in traditional martial arts, boxing and wrestling Aubrey was introduced to Krav Maga by a colleague and has never looked back. Drawn to Krav Maga’s simplicity and effectiveness, he felt that the system had everything he had been looking for in his years of training together in one complete system that made sense.
Aubrey has spent much time in LA at the Krav Maga Worldwide Training Centre since 2004 and was granted his black belt in August 2009. He is the first Canadian to reach this level. He was awarded “Instructor of the Year” in 2008 by Krav Maga Worldwide out of thousands of top notch Krav Maga instructors internationally. Most recently, Aubrey received his Advanced Law Enforcement Trainer certification in October of 2011.
Aubrey also has extensive training in traditional karate, having reached the level of fifth degree black belt and teaching level of Renshi (Master) with the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai. Aubrey is also a certified High Gear Suit trainer and has trained with Tony Blauer on the use of the High Gear suit as a training tool for self defense.
Aubrey has been privileged to train with the very top Krav Maga practitioners worldwide including Darren Levine, John Whitman, Kelly Campbell, Michael Margolin, Amir Perets, Sam Sade, John Pascal and many other excellent Krav Maga Worldwide instructors.

Angie Hastings- Krav Maga, Conditioning and Women’s Only Self Defense
Angie has been involved in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years. She has 6 years experience working in fitness centres as a personal trainer and has also taught fitness boxing and kickboxing classes. She is currently in training to become a police officer. Angie started her martial arts career in the traditional martial art of Kung Fu and joined Krav Maga in 2007. Angie is a level 4 student of Krav Maga and successfully completed Phase A training in May of 2009 and Phase B training October 2011.
Chad Hayes-Krav Maga, Fight and Teens
Chad began his training in Martial Arts in 1997. He has trained in various clubs around the Toronto area including Reality Combat Fitness and Survival and Warrior Martial Arts. Chad started training at Krav Maga Worldwide in 2007 and completed his Phase A instructor certification in May 2009. Chad loves working with people and finds it very rewarding to be able to help adults and teens become safer. His son Chase is waiting for the day he turns 4 and can get in on the fun as well!
Dustin Hoffman- Krav Maga, Conditioning, Fight, Teens, and KMX
Dustin has basically grown up at Krav Maga Training Centre. He started off in the kids program at the age of 10. He quickly excelled in his training. Dustin trained every day, he took every seminar and special training that was available to him. He received his black belt in Shorin Ryu Karate in 2006 after a training trip to Japan with the DNBK. Dustin achieved extremely high marks in his Krav Maga Instructor testing in both Phase A and Phase B, which is especially impressive since he is one of the youngest instructors ever to complete these certifications. He will be taking his Phase C certification in October 2011. Dustin has been working with the KW Spinners Wheelchair athletes on Self Defense and Martial Arts skills since 2006. In addition to teaching his group classes, Dustin also enjoys working one on one with students to help them to achieve their goals.
Dylan Moscovitch- Krav Maga, Fight and Conditioning
Dylan has trained in various martial arts including Kung Fu before discovering Krav Maga in 2008. He found the realistic techniques and fast paced, aggressive training drills in the Krav Maga system to be just what he was looking for. Dylan is a figure skater who competes in pairs with partner Kristen Moore-Towers at the international level. They are the current Canadian Senior Pairs Champions (2011). With his athletic ability and great enthusiasm he was able to successfully complete his Phase A Instructor certification with flying colours in May 2009. Dylan has a passion for sport and self defense which make him a dynamic and motivating Krav Maga instructor.
Jerry Reibling- Muay Thai
Jerry Reibling has always had a passion for sports and competition. Jerry has been involved in combat arts since the age of 12 when he successfully competed on his school wrestling team. He trained as a teen with the Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy under the legendary Arnie Boehm. In 1999 he started training in Muay Thai with Khan Phady and his brothers at Phady’s Muay Thai. His first Muay Thai match was in 2001, he also received his judging and referee certification by the Canadian Amateur Muay Thai Association during his time with Phady’s. Jerry has also competed in MMA fights and currently holds a record of 2 wins with one loss.
Jerry has successfully coached both Muay Thai and MMA fighters and enjoys the challenge of helping hard working athletes refine their skills and test themselves in competition.
Jerry loves snowboarding, basketball and soccer. He has competed successfully in Bodybuilding and came in 2nd at the the Canadian Championship in 2003 in the Amateur Drug Free Division.
Julie Obbard- Krav Maga, Conditioning, Fight, Women’s Only Self Defense
Julie Obbard is happy to be part of the Krav Maga Family. She has been active her entire life and is pleased to be able to combine her love of movement with her passion for teaching in her role as a Krav Maga Instructor. Her certifications include KM Fitness Certification (2006), KM Instructor Phase A (2008) and Phase B (2009) and Phase C (2011) plus the Agatsu Kettlebell Instructor Course Level I (2009). She has also been teaching kids’ classes since 2004. She constantly strives to expand her knowledge and has trained extensively in muay thai kickboxing, boxing, brazilian jiu-jitsu, taiji and karate as well as attending seminars in MMA and a variety of other martial arts.
Along with being an accomplished Krav Maga instructor, Julie is also a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Due to this unique background Julie possesses extensive knowledge and understanding of the mechanics of the human body which allows her to work with her students to maximize their optimal performance.
Julie has worked privately with athletes cross-training for competitions, adults seeking deeper understanding of self defense and individuals with special needs. Her goal is to assist everyone to be a little healthier and a little safer when they walk out of her class.
Keenan Weig- Krav Maga and Fight
Keenan began his Krav Maga training in 2007. It soon became apparent his natural talent for both the system as well as his ability to teach. Because of his dedication and drive, Keenan has accomplished many things in his few years of training. Keenan successfully achieved his Phase A certification in May 2009 and Phase B certification only three months later in August 2009. He completed Phase C in July 2010 and Expert 1 in January of 2011. Keenan also has an MMA fight record of 3 wins with zero losses. He has placed well in extreme fitness competitions such as Iron Man Triathalon competitions within the military. Keenan loves to work with students of all levels in helping them learn to defend themselves as well as coaching fighters. He is currently a proud active member of the Canadian Infantry and enjoys teaching seminars as well as training students in between his courses and when he is on leave.
Matt Duckett- Krav Maga, Fight and Conditioning
Matt has been involved as a student in Krav Maga since 2005 and an instructor since 2008. He was drawn to the system because of how simple and practical it is as well as the physical conditioning aspect of the training. Matt has taught Krav Maga, Intro to Fight and Conditioning classes at the training center. Matt enjoys cross training in Muay Thai and BJJ in order to improve his overall skills. He has successfully competed in several BJJ tournaments.
Matt Payne-Krav Maga and Conditioning
Matt is Phase A certified Instructor and has been involved in Krav Maga since 2007. Matt’s passion for Krav Maga comes from its real life application and the ability of the system to be accessible and quick to learn for people from all walks of life and skill sets. In addition, Matt is an Agatsu Level 1 certified Kettlebell Instructor and a CrossFit Level 1 Certified Instructor. Outside of Krav Maga, Kettlebell training and Crossfit, Matt enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, 2 amazing children and his 2 German shepherds!
Matt Kachek-Krav Maga and Conditioning
Matt Kachek is a current serving police officer with over 13 years of experience. In addition to everyday patrol and supervisory duties, Matt was certified as a Firearms, Use of Force and Defensive Tactics Instructor through the Ontario Police College in 2008 and is responsible for the training of his police department. In addition to being a Use of Force Instructor, Matt is a certified instructor in Pressure Point and Control Tactics, Handcuffing, and Tactical Police Baton Use. Other police certifications include: ASP, Handcuffing and Baton Systems, Police Coach, Public Order Tactics, Tactical Carbine Instructor, Taser Instructor, and Active Shooter Response Instructor
Matt began his Krav Maga training in the winter of 2008, and completed his Level 1 certification in June 2009 before moving on to his Level 2 certification in August of the same year. In October 2011, Matt completed his Phase A
Instructor certification.
Matt continues to work towards higher certifications in Krav Maga and hopes to eventually become Krav Maga Law Enforcement Instructor Certified, his goal being to bring some of his real world experiences with him into the classroom.
